Personal project

In this ongoing portrait project, each subject is seated behind a desk, lit minimally— often with just a strip of light. Stripped of distraction, the focus falls entirely on expression, mood, and presence. The limitations of the setup are deliberate: with movement restricted, emotion must come from within. Minimal direction is offered, inviting the model to either express what they’re truly feeling in the moment, or to embody a character they’ve recently resonated with—someone from a film, a book, or even a passing thought. Shot entirely in black and white, this series is a quiet study in restraint, vulnerability, and performance.
